Blessing Experiment

Yesterday, I decided to run a little experiment.

The mission? To bless every single person who crossed my path. Sounds easy, right? Well, let’s just say it got a little interesting.

First stop: the expressway. Now, I don’t know if I was suddenly driving through a NASCAR race or what, but cars were zooming past me like they were auditioning for an action movie. I tried to bless each one, but after the 100th car sped by, I realized my arms couldn’t keep up.

So, I did what any sensible person would do—I switched to laser beam blessings through my eyes. Efficient, right?

Later, I was in an office building waiting to speak to the receptionist, and of course, I blessed her—no problem there. Then, a gentleman walked up. Now, I’ll be honest—my first reaction wasn’t a blessing, but something more like, “Wow, this guy has the skinniest legs I’ve ever seen, but his middle is… huge.” I know, not very saintly of me.

But just as I started down the road of silent criticism, I caught myself. “Wait, wasn’t I supposed to be blessing people, not sizing them up?”

That’s when he turned around, and I saw it—a colostomy bag under his shirt. The rather inflated bag (gas) was causing his shirt to balloon out!

My heart sank. In that moment, I went from critic to compassionate, sending all the blessings I could muster his way. And then I added a prayer of thanks for my own health, coupled with extra blessings for this man who clearly needed more love than I’d first realized.

Fast forward to dinner that evening with my husband, and it was like we were the stars of a feel-good movie. Everyone in the restaurant was smiling at us, and this adorable beautiful couple even invited us to join them for dinner.

"We ended up taking selfies together and even made plans to meet again soon! These are the kind of people whose love and warmth just radiate—there was an instant connection, like soul friends reuniting after a long time apart.

The energy in the room was so warm and inviting, and I realized this is what happens when you start stirring up some serious blessing vibes.
