Would Jesus listen to That?
Amen and dance a little too! See the FULL story below the Dancin' version of the song!
Below is the original version (below that is the dancin' version)

When I was a girl, our house had strict music rules. We weren't allowed to listen to the radio unless it was a Christian station, and even then, my dad - a fire-and-brimstone preacher and actual exorcist - viewed anything livelier than a sloth's heartbeat as potential devil's work.
One fateful day, I discovered the rebellious world of black gospel music. I was secretly bopping to the Edwin Hawkins Singers' "Oh Happy Day" when my dad burst into the room like he'd caught me planning a rock concert in the church basement.
"Becky-doodle!" he exclaimed, his face a shade of red usually reserved for tomatoes and stop signs, "I thought I told you you couldn't listen to that sinful music!"
I tried to reason with him, "But Daddy, it's not sinful. It's gospel music sung by a black gospel choir. They're praising Jesus with more fervor than your congregation during a heated game of Bible Trivia!"!"
Dad's response?
A snort so dramatic, it could've won an Oscar. "Jesus would not listen to that!" he declared, before marching out. I could hear him in the next room, fervently praying and probably adding "protect my daughter from being seduced by this music and actually, GASP...DANCING!" to his usual exorcism checklist.
Little did he know, his dramatic exit only cemented my newfound love for the Edwin Hawkins Singers, especially "Oh Happy Day." It was my first taste of musical rebellion - praising the Lord with a beat that didn't make you fall asleep.
I've put it on my blog for you to enjoy. Just be careful - if you start tapping your foot, my dad might sense it from the other side and show up with his emergency hymnal and exorcism kit in tow.
The funny thing is, once my dad crossed over to the great gospel choir in the sky, he seemed to have a change of heart. Now he shows up to most of my psychic sessions and classes from the other side.
I can always tell he's around when I suddenly feel the urge to shout "AMEN" and "Hallelujah!" in the middle of a session. I guess even in the afterlife, old habits die hard - but at least now he's got rhythm!
