I first started to hear the voice of the Divine, even before I was six years old.

I did not know what it was then… or what to do. I felt no fear. I would be playing outside and suddenly I would be aware of a very grown-up presence.

It seemed to come from inside of me.

This presence would seem to have the same message every time.

The message said, you are here. You are really here. This is the real you.

Because it was such a grownup presence, I would suddenly feel much older and wiser, as if I could see my world from a far-off place. Then the feeling would fade, and I would go back to making mud pies or playing hopscotch.

A few months after my 6th birthday, and during a very harsh winter in Barnesville Georgia, tragedy struck our little family.

My little sister, Rosie, died of spinal meningitis.

As you can imagine, it was a very hard time. We were all devastated.

During this time, I felt the presence of “other beings” – not good ones.

I believe they were trying to take me too!

You see, we hadn't even had the funeral for my sister when I became very ill withthe same symptoms my sister died from.

Despite the voices of skeptics, and despite us being dirt poor,  my parents rushed me to the doctor immediately. They had waited a bit with my sister and were not going to see the same thing happen twice!

I SHOULD EXPLAIN THIS - It may be hard to imagine but back in those days we did not go to the doctor unless things were very serious. We were very poor so my Momma would make homemade cough syrup and doctor us the best she could.

MY CLOSE ENCOUNTER OF THE EVIL KIND ...

During the time I was ill, I had at least 3 scary visits from the ‘other beings’.

I knew they were not of God, I could feel it!

I still did not tell any grownups. I think I was more afraid of ‘getting into trouble’ than handling the spirits! Even as a six-year-old child, I knew how to shake myself, and to say NO!

Somehow, I KNEW how to take spiritual authority and banish them.

Even at that incredibly young age. I must have passed some spiritual test, because many years have passed since them and I have never heard from THOSE bad guys again.

Through all of this I never told a soul, not even my sweet southern mama, and certainly not my stern minister father!

So you can see why I truly believe I was born to teach about Divine Truth!
