Pancakes and Judgement

My husband’s business has been going through a bit of a rough patch lately, and he’s been feeling discouraged. So this morning, I decided to cheer him up with his favorite breakfast—pancakes! (Because nothing says “I love you” like warm, fluffy comfort smothered in syrup.)

But just as I proudly served up those golden beauties, I noticed he was watching some really depressing news on his tablet...And then, bless his heart, he started spouting off about it. (Cringe)

Here’s where my inner critic decided to put on lipstick and step into the spotlight. I blurted out:

“Honey, if you fill your mind with depressing stuff first thing in the morning, it’s not exactly gonna help your business!”

Ugh. Cue the self-righteous tone I absolutely can’t stand in other people. Yep, there I was—judging him, when I was supposed to be cheering him up!

And then of course, I started judging myself for judging him.

Can you relate? Where does this spiral end?

That’s when it hit me: Time for a fresh start.

Time to whip up a new recipe—not in the kitchen, but in the energy field of my own heart.

Here’s my morning do-over recipe when you start the day on a sour note:

~ Take a big ol’ dose of self-forgiveness.

~ Add a heaping scoop of self-love.

~ Tap that beautiful blend into your energy system.

~ Top it all off with a juicy cherry of JOY energy.

Once I did this for myself, I felt a total shift. So much so that I thought,
